I send an email to the sender, stating that Jagex discovered me and that I will no longer use their services (and I really don't have any plans to), or email them. Not long after I get an email from Jagex. Jagex (which I assume is the real Jagex) is tellng me that the message I received initially was from a fake sender that was using the Jagex address to conceal their own. They claimed they wanted to phish for my account, etc.So, I'm curious if this scam is common. Is it a scam? Has anyone else received an email threatening a lawsuit from Jagex? It was strange that Jagex would send me this email, but not inform me that my past appeal had been denied. Jagex 2012 - would they be willing to sue me for giving my account up? It would certainly do them more harm that good.
My theory: The decline in Runescape's quality was indirectly caused by Dungeoneering. The 25th skill was supposed to attract more players and more revenue. Dungeoneering didn't increase Runescape's player count and did not generate the revenue required.
Insight Venture Partners, the majority owner of Jagex likely been adamant about Jagex's inability to recruit new members into Runescape. Fly on the wall listening in during that fateful IVP/Jagex meeting in 2010.

Additionally, Runescape overall fell dramatically following that, and numerous items Jagex introduced were geared not at making a difference to Runescape, but easy cash grabs: More Bonus XP weekends.
